Here is another form with questionable data that was accepted and filed at the Knox County Election Commission. On this form filed by City Council candidate Ray Abbas the treasurer signed on 7-6-09 and the witnesses witnessed the signature on 7-7-09. Now, both witnesses witnessed on the same date as Ray Abbas, candidate signed. So, did Abbas take the document to the witnesses with the treasurer's signature from the day before? How can that happen? Now, Administrator McKae makes over $100,000. 00 a year and his Deputy Administrator Frith makes over $80,000.00 and they can not ensure these documents comply with the law.
Below is the July 13, 2008 financial disclosure statement of former Black Wednesday appointed Commissioner Jack Huddleston. He raised and spent money but never filed for and never ran for Commissioner. The financial disclosure is signed by Huddleston, his treasurer Tim Brown and each signature is witnessed by two separate individuals. The dates of the signatures are 7-13-08. However, the financial disclosure was not accepted and filed with the Knox County Election Commission until February 32, 2009. Now, we know there were only 28 days in February 2009. So, it is likely that Huddleston turned in his form on February 2, 3, 12 or 22 and a minor glitch in the stamp recorded it as the 32. We are confident that the staff of the Election Commission got the month and year correct. Because after all, Huddleston couldn't have filed a 7-13-2008 filing in February 2008. So, Huddleston is in violation of the financial disclosure law and should be fined appropriately.
*Tennessee State law does allow a candidate to appoint themselves as Treasurer. However, with this form Samuel P. McKenzie was not appointed as Treasurer. A Samuel McK. was appointed.
