Should Dottie Arnett Face Charges?

This evening, I listened to the 911 call that Dottie Arnett, wife of Republican candidate for Knox County Clerk Foster Arnett on Monday night. The first question that I had after listening to it, should charges be brought against Dottie Arnett? She alleges that she is being stalked but then acknowledges that she is safe. She alleges that the sign was on city property but that he alleges it is his property. She then requests that the call to Knoxville Police Department be canceled and that is the indication that it is a false report. On April 6, 2010 this case was made public about a false 911 call.

If an everyday tax paying citizen had wasted the 911 operators time and falsely reported a crime, a police officer would have visited the home for filing a false report. But the speculation by many in Knox County is that the double standard in the community allows a citizen connected to "a choice few" gets away with filing a false report.

Foster Arnett Kept the Christmas Shopping Day

Foster Arnett keeps saying he stopped the practice of giving the employees a paid Christmas Shopping Day. What he did was simply change the name. In 2009, he implemented a Vacation Bonus Day to all full time employees as evidenced in this memo from his office. When he was asked about it last night at a public meeting, he denied it. When confronted with the memo he said "Oh, I forgot about that. You are right. I am wrong." If he can not remember a policy he implemented 9 months ago, how can he be suitable for a position of public trust?

Foster Arnett - The Truth Ain't In Him

Tonight, the Eighth District Republican Club met and Debbie Cole and Foster Arnett participated in a q&a session. A Knoxville Police Officer asked Arnett about an incident involving his wife, Dottie, last evening where she had taken a Debbie Cole and Tim Burchett signs from private property on Cherokee Blvd. Foster stated that she was removing them from city property. Not true. But the 911 call of Dottie Arnett will be released by by the 911 center on Thursday morning. This was not the first Debbie Cole and Tim Burchett signs removed from this property over the past couple of weeks. This was the second occasion and it is reported and will be confirmed on Thursday morning that Dottie was caught red handed. The 911 call is reported to reveal that she admits to stealing the Cole and Burchett signs.

Also at tonight's meeting, Gary Lawson asked Arnett about a bonus day that he awarded to his employees. Arnett denied it. At the conclusion of the meeting Arnett was presented with a memo in his own signature and he looked at Lawson and said "I forgot about that, You are right, I am wrong." The memo dated July 16, 2009 to All Employees From Pat Sullivan, HR Department RE; Vacation Bonus Day states Everyone recently (except part-time employees) received a memo from Foster dated July 1, 2009, with a "Vacation Day Bonus" certificate attached. Please make sure that you hold onto this certificate. You will be required to submit the certificate with your timesheet to get credit for the bonus day. This bonus day may be taken between now and June 30, 2010. Procedure for taking Bonus day: 1. Receive prior approval from your supervisor. 2. Request leave for this day by filling out a Leave Request Form 3. Write in "bonus day" on the Leave Request Form. 4. Record the 8 hours in the "Other" block on your timesheet. It does not go under annual or sick leave. 5. Ensure the certificate is attached to your timesheet when you turn it in to your supervisor. If you have any questions please contact your supervisor. Remember this is the same Arnett couple that forgot to pay the taxes on their Maynardville vacation home and when it was revealed on Brian's Blog two years ago and the News Sentinel joined with Brian's Blog. He immediately paid them. Foster Arnett, the truth just ain't in him.

"Lumpy"

On Saturday, the News Sentinel had this story of Commissioner Greg "Lumpy""" Lambert changing his sworn testimony from the 2007 Sunshine trial. Because surely if as he now says "Hutchison was the General and he was a soldier" then he would have testified to that in the deposition where he placed his hand on the Bible and swore to "tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help him God"

I attended the January 31, 2007 Commission meeting, where the Black Wednesday* appointments went down. I was there in large part due to my position as Republican Party Chairman. Lambert's new version is not accurate. Here is what is interesting, Lambert believes that if he helps some of the supporters of Burchett that in 2012, they will contribute to and assist him in being elected to the State House seat of either Harry Brooks or Bill Dunn. In politics, promises today never translate into promises kept tomorrow. Plus, Lambert is betting on Brooks or Dunn retiring in 2012. Another unlikely occurrence in my opinion. But time will tell, we will see.

*Knoxville businessman Walt Wojnar was the first person to use the term "Black Wednesday" and it has become the standard term for the Commission meeting on January 31, 2007. I wonder how much money in royalties, Wojnar receives for people using the term.

Something Is Surely Wrong

Since Mark Harmon became the Commissioner for District Two on September 1, 2007 I can't recall a time that I have agreed with any his liberal rhetoric. However, tonight he asked why, how and who had pulled the East Sector Plan from the Commission agenda in April. It appears that it will be voted on in May after the primary election. Not an indication of an open and transparent government. Whoever asked to pull it, just come forward and say why. We can all now resume to our regular disdain for the antics of Mark Harmon.

Knoxville Author Martha Woodward to Appear on TV in China

Jianing Shen, reporter with China Central Television, the largest television station in the land of China, traveled from Washington, D.C. to Knoxville this week in order to interview writer Martha Rose Woodward. The interview centered around Woodward's book, Knoxville's 1982 World's Fair.

Shen was given Woodward's name by a writer friend of Woodward's living in Los Angeles, CA that she discovered while doing research on world fairs in general. Shen's traveling companions were Jun Gao and Haifeng Nui, photographers and Guay lin Jiang, her mother. The trip was part business and part sight seeing.

Shen said, "The 2010 World's Fair will begin in Shainghi, China on May 1, 2010. Our television station gave me the assignment to be able to compare the experiences Knoxville had during their fair with our fair. We were happy to find Martha. She has proven to be an excellent source of information."

Woodward served as a tour guide as well as historian, taking the group to World's Fair Park as well as the Sunsphere while recommending other local spots. "I found that we could communicate just fine." said Woodward. "We were of the same spirit and that carried us through. I felt a true bond to Jaining (who speaks English), she reminded me of my own daughters. I also felt a kinship to Jiang. We found that as mothers we had more love to share.

"Martha is great," said Shen. "She held the historic perspective we were seeking. She made us feel like we had been at the 1982 World's Fair through her words and descriptions." "Of all the things Martha showed us," said Shen, "I believe the view from the Sunsphere was the most impressive. It was also meaningful for us to see the flag of China flying over the park 28 years later."

Woodward also took the group to Cracker Barrel for lunch. "Jianing requested that I take them some pace uniquely southern," explained Woodward. "I thought they should discover biscuits and cornbread," she teased. "We loved the biscuits and cornbread," said Shen. "The food was great -- very tasty --'comfort food' -- as Martha said."

Shen and the China Central Television team will edit the video they made while in town after they return to Washington, D.C. The segment containing the interview with Woodward will air Friday April 30, 2010 across the entire country of China for possible viewing by over one billion people.

Zach Attack with John Rich in Knoxville Last Night

Weston and Coty Wamp in supporting their dad, Third District Congressman Zach Wamp for Governor of TN held a free concert at the Tin Roof on the Cumberland Avenue Strip last night with Mega Country Music Star John Rich, one part of the duo Country Music recording sensation Big & Rich. This was really a College student event, but Weston and Coty were generous to me to allow an old 43 year old guy in. John had a meet and greet and he is a great guy to talk to.

At 9:55 p.m. Coty and Weston took the stage and thanked everyone for attending.

Weston then took about 3 minutes to give a stump speech.

Then John Rich took the stage and opened with Coming to Your City and then several of the other songs he performed were Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire, Lost in this Moment, The Good Lord and the Man, Shutting Detroit Down, Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy and a few more.

When Rich and his band performed the hit song Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy, he was joined on stage by Two Foot Fred. Two Foot Fred is a member of Rich's MuzikMafia. Six, Rich's bodyguard came on stage to assist Two Foot Fred after the song. Following the concert, I had the opportunity to talk with Six. Six is a great guy that performs his job exceptionally well. He stands 6' 9''.

Rich's encore was leading a packed house to Rocky Top. It was a great event right in the front door of the Knoxville Mayor who happens to be challenging Zach Wamp for Governor. The Knoxville Mayor had several volunteers occupy two tables at the Tin Roof until the place got so packed that they left.

The best quote of the night by John Rich about Zach Wamp was when he was saying that he has met all four candidates for Governor, they are all four good men but that "Zach Wamp has something that most politician's don't have. He has a set of balls and a backbone." Rich went on to say that Zach Wamp is the only guy that will meet Barack Obama at the state line and say bring it on and will challenge the Obama agenda. The house went wild.

How Funny - Bristol Palin Came to Knoxville, But Did The Media Get It?

All local and national media had the Howard Baker Federal Courthouse staked out to get a photo of Bristol Palin, the daughter of former Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin and Todd Palin. She is also the baby momma of Levi Johnston's offspring. It is funny that the only photographic evidence of Palin's visit is the in courtroom chalk artist and one lady that was able to get a photograph with Palin and her young daughter at a local Panera restaurant while Palin visited with her attorney.

A Funny False Admission At The Halls GOP

Ted Hatfield of the Halls Republican Club in announcing the clubs annual October Pancake fundraiser that is held at the Texas Roadhouse at East Towne. He announced that a premiere gala was held recently for the Kenny Chesney 3D movie and Texas Roadhouse had catered that event. Hatfield announced that following that event he got a very nice email from Texas Roadhouse believing that he and the Halls Republican Club had something to do with them being able to cater the Kenny Chesney event. Hatfield thanked them and took credit for himself and the Halls GOP doing that for them and told them to just keep booking the breakfast. As Former Sheriff Tim Hutchison, Republican candidate for Knox County Mayor was concluding his remarks as he was this months speaker. Hutchison said, "Ted after taking all that credit, you really should go to work for the City of Knoxville." Laughter ensued.

Cleared!

I got a phone call from Mr. Van de Vate offering to stage a press conference to declare my campaign cleared! I declined. Remember this article from the April 10, 2010 News Sentinel detailing the April 9, 2010 Election Commission meeting. Election Commissioner Bob Bowman made a BIG production over the first treasurer form that I filed where I had by oversight failed to list my home address. An appointment of treasurer form can be filed at anytime so at 8:30 a.m. on April 12, 2010 (a week ago today) I filed with the Knox County Election Commission an appointment of Treasurer form with the included information.

In researching the appointment of Treasurer form for my opponent for his home address he listed N/A. According to Lawyer Bowman it is a critical piece of information. But you don't see Bowman waving my opponents forms in the air. So, the double standard of county officials continues.

Arnett's Fuzzy Math

Tonight, Foster Arnett in asking for the votes of all in attendance at the Halls Republican Club. Said that his wife had gone everywhere with him for the three years that they had been doing this. While Mrs. Arnett is a lovely woman and a pleasure to see at meetings. It seems that Foster needs to go back to elementary school. You see the Republican Primary that Foster was selected was February 5, 2008 which means the filing deadline would have been in October 2007. He was elected in the August 7, 2008 General election. So in giving Arnett credit till October 2007 until today, Arnett has only been "doing this" for 30 months, 3 years would be 36 months. So, Arnett is only off by 6 months. A more accurate accounting method would be for Arnett to say 2.5 years.

Thomas Deakins, Sixth District Knox County School Board Member told me about a billboard in Cookeville, TN on a recent trip west he took the time to snap a picture of it and send to me. This is a great message for 2010. It is a picture of President Reagan that says "We Miss You Too"

Dorsey Advocates or Pro-Evolution Textbook

On Inside TN this morning, the Seventh District School Board members were asked by Jack McElroy if you were on the School Board what would you do on the Science book. Matthew Jones, William Warwick and Kim Sepesi were for banning the book. Charlotte Dorsey, a former Knox County Principal advocated for the school systems textbook process. Vote Jones, Sepesi and/or Warwick.

Tabloid Bully Girl #1 Crossed the Line, Friday

This thread from the local liberal blog has the E.W. Scripps tabloid bully girl #1 commenting and in tabloid bully girl fashion utilizing class warfare on Democrat candidate Rev. Ezra Maize. Tabloid Bully Girl #1 comment was. submitted by sclark426 (not verified) on Fri. 2010/04/16 - 9:22 p.m. Good job, Steve. Important debate, strong questions. Enjoyed it. Had to get back to type up R's, but Larry V G covered D's last Tuesday in Powell. Maize drove a Rolls to Powell. Tonight he drove a Lexus with a "Jesus" vanity plate.

First of all what is the difference in Maize driving a Rolls and Knoxville's current Mayor trying to buy the Governor's mansion? Secondly, her back handed reference to a Christ follower having a license plate of Jesus and her accusation that it is "vanity" and not his committed life to serving God is despicable, unwarranted and is religious intolerance. It should NOT be condoned by E.W. Scripps management.

Blast From The Past: Cedar Ridge

My favorite local gospel group in the mid to late 1980's was Cedar Ridge. A group composed of members of the Treece family, Jeff Treece is still traveling the country with The Jeff Treece Band. Violet Treece, Jeff and Dewayne's mom passed away a few years ago from cancer. In this video Karyn Treece has the lead, Violet is the lovely lady in the red dress. If only we could find the video of Violet singing The Eagle Song, that would be AWESOME.

Why Does Smith's Words Not Match The Picture

When Seventh District Commissioner Robert Lawrence Smith talks at meetings like Halls B&P, Powell B&P and Halls GOP Club as he discusses his family. He mentions that he has a grown adult daughter that is an educator and that he has another daughter and a son. But when you see his billboard the photo is of his wife, Sharon and one daughter and one son. Where is the other daughter that Robert Lawrence claims? Why does his words not match the photographic evidence?

McMillan is Attacked by Newspaper

This story from today's News Sentinel is interesting in the political world. First of all the headline is "Former teacher runs for 8th district post". Well, actually three of the four candidates are former teachers, Mike McMillan, Tommy Everett and Roy Mullins. Only candidate My understanding is that Harvey Boles is not a former teacher.

The interesting part of this story is that the Gibbs High School Principal that began an investigation on McMillan currently serves as the Treasurer for Mullins campaign. Mullins who was Interim Superintendent of the Knox County School district at the time the investigation began. Several months later, Dr. McIntyre had to conclude the investigation, because as Knox County Schools history was to put professional educators on leave and keep them on leave indefinitely. Dr. McIntyre in righting the sinking ship had to do what he did. When McMillan when faced with his options, retirement was his best option instead of being dragged through a tenure revocation hearing that is very public. While McMillan had enough years of service to retire and has a farm that he could focus his time and attention on during this time.

The last interesting part of this story is where the other candidates decline comment, they don't have to make this an issue or comment, because Jack McElroy and crew have already done that. When will the politics of slash and burn end? It is only a school board seat. It is not the leader of the free world.

Mark Goins is Right, Why Can Knox County Not Figure This Out on Their Own?

This article from today's News Sentinel states Mark Goins, TN Election Coordinator has given his opinion. For the record, Goins is right. The Knox County Charter is silent on a vacancy of the Knox County Law Director. Anyone that reads the Knox County Charter can figure this out. Goins is a lawyer. But come on, he is to oversee 95 counties and the third largest county in the state can't figure out the law. So, if Chris Heagerty and Bob Bowman both members of the five member Knox County Election Commission can not read, comprehend and interpret the Knox County Charter. Maybe the Knox County legislators should replace them and select election commissioners that can. Just a thought.

That Robert Lawrence Smith Doesn't Play With With Others (especially Women)

Yesterday (Wednesday) Seventh District Commissioner Michelle Carringer visited the Halls Senior Center. The Seniors get together to play Bingo. Carringer brought a box of McDonald's Sausage and Biscuits for any Senior that may want one. Some time passed and Seventh District Commissioner Robert Lawrence Smith showed up with boxes of donuts. When he came in, he took the box of Carringer Sausage and Biscuits and threw them on the microwave. A Senior alerted Carringer to Smith's action. Carringer went and got her Sausage and Biscuits and put them back on the table while Smith instructed the Seniors to line up while he took his plastic fork and put a donut on every Seniors plate (treating the Seniors like they were Kindergartners). Smith took the box of Sausage and Biscuits and informed Carringer, "Michelle you have been here long enough" and threw them back on the microwave. Carringer took the Sausage and Biscuits and put them back on the table for another time and told him they would stay there.

As Carringer stepped away, several Seniors came to her and said Michelle we didn't know much about you and were going to vote for him. But now that we have seen the way he treated you. We will be voting for you, not him.

After Smith gave one donut to each Senior he stood up and presented a check and informed them he was sponsoring the month of April. He then discussed how he was endorsed by the News Sentinel and its Editor Jack McElroy and how that meant everything to him and to the citizens of the Seventh District. He then made a comment how he was running for Commission, not School Board. Which was an obvious slap at the KC-PACE endorsement of Seventh District Commissioner Michelle Carringer for Seventh District Commissioner. Don't you know somethings don't change, you gotta figure that Robert Lawrence Smith's report card probably always said "doesn't play well with others" (especially women) The other candidate Lillian Williams was not involved in this incident

The Lies They Are A Flying!

Sources from the old Knox County courthouse has it that I was present at the old courthouse today attempting to get information presenting myself as a member of the media and was asked to leave. First, of all this is a lie straight from the pit of hades. I was NO WHERE near downtown today. I did send an email to Greg Mackay in my capacity as a free lance reporter for The Knoxville Journal (which my role was reported here on Sunday) requesting to receive the two daily emails for early voting. Greg Mackay replied that my email address would be added. I thanked him via a returned email. So, the gossip and lies coming from the old courthouse was all lie.

Remember, this from Saturdays newspaper and this from Brian's Blog that it isn't myself that goes around accosting people. It is others accosting me.

Brian Hornback Ventures Into Print Media

This Thursday, when you pick up your copy of The Knoxville Journal or check it out online here you will find an article written by Brian Hornback. As a free lance writer Hornback was approached about the idea of writing for The Knoxville Journal. Unlike Brian's Blog with The Knoxville Journal, Hornback will write stories based on subjects assigned by the papers management. Hornback said, "I am looking forward to this new venture. Working with Knoxville's oldest newspaper which is also independently and locally owned is an honor."

The Public Trust has made endorsements for the following candidates. Knox County Mayor they endorse Republican Tim Burchett; Knox County Clerk they endorse Republican Foster Arnett; In the Knox County Commission Eighth District they endorse Republicans Duane Bias and Dave Wright; In the Knox County Commission Ninth District they endorse Republican Mike Brown; In the Knox County Commission At Large Seat 11 contest they endorse Republicans Richard "Bud" Armstrong and Ed Shouse; In the School Board Seventh District they endorse Charlotte Dorsey and Kim Sepesi; In the School Board Ninth District they endorse Tammy Sommers and Pam Trainor.

The Public Trust does not consider endorsements in uncontested races and in the Sheriffs race they did not endorse in the Sheriff Jimmy "J.J." Jones and Steve Hart Republican primary. They also did not endorse in the Seventh District County Commission Republican primary where Commissioner Michelle Carringer, Robert Lawrence Smith and Lillian Williams are running against each other.

CHR and HCRAA Ask The Question, Why Did SB2402 Died

CHR, Citizens for Home Rule along with Hamilton County Residents Against Annexation are trying to find out why SB2402 died in Senate State and Local on Wednesday April 7, 2010. The bill would require a vote by residents before annexation, it reinstates citizens' right to trial by jury, it puts the burden on proof (that the annexation is justified) back on the city. In 1998, the bill shifted the burden of proof to the citizens and forbade a trial by jury. Steve Hill, Candidate for State Senate

Today, Educated Voters for a Brighter Future along with West Knox Republican Club held a candidate Rally at Shelter #6 of Concord Park. Several candidates for State office were present. The state primary is August 5, 2010. Steve Hill and Ron Leadbetter, Republican candidates for State Senate District 7; Randy Walker, Democrat candidate for State Senate District 7 and Brian Hornback, candidate for Republican State Executive Committeeman District 6 all addressed the crowd. Ken Gross, candidate for Republican State Executive Committeeman District 7 was present.

Steve Hill made two interesting points. One is that last year 28,000 students dropped out of school in Tennessee and that is more than graduated from post secondary institutions. That is shocking, but the fact remains. Second, when he is elected he is only going to go to Nashville for one four year term. Steve Hill served on the Knox County School Board for several years and even served as the Board Chairman. So, education is his top priority, however he said just throwing money at it hasn't fixed education and will not fix it.

Richard "Bud" Armstrong Makes Good Impresssion In West Knox

Today the Educated Voters for a Brighter Future along with the West Knox Republican Club held a Knox County Candidate Rally at Concord Park Shelter #6. Several candidates were in attendance, Foster Arnett and Debbie Cole, Republican candidates for Knox County Clerk; Tim Hutchison, Republican candidate for Knox County Mayor; Representatives for Tim Burchett, Republican candidate for Knox County Mayor; Michael McBath and Ezra Maize, Democrat candidates for Knox County Mayor; Finbarr Saunders, Democrat candidate for Fourth district County Commission and Richard "Bud" Armstrong, current Eighth District Commissioner and Republican candidate for County Commission At Large Seat 11.

Armstrong was greatly received and mapped out his education, experience and what he sees as the next hurdles facing Knox County and how his life experiences will help Knox County in addressing those opportunities. Armstrong also discussed how in his current role with Knox County he has school buildings that are aging and need to be addressed and how in West Knoxville the growing population has need for more seats and the struggle to fix it for all.

Saturday Chuckle

This afternoon from 3:30-5:30 at Shelter #6 at Concord Park the Facebook group Educated Voters for a Brighter Future along with the West Knox Republican Club held a Knox County Candidate Rally. The Saturday Chuckle came as Republican Mayoral candidate Tim Hutchison was talking with Democrat Mayoral candidate Ezra Maize. A voter told Maize I wish you well, but I am voting for Hutchison in May. I may look at you come August. Maize in response said "I want Tim Hutchison to win, if he doesn't I will debating myself all summer." Everyone laughed. It was a reference to the perception that Republican Mayoral candidate Tim Burchett is avoiding debates.

The Rest of the Story about Yesterday

Brian Hornback went to the Knox County Election Commission concerning Mr. Hatfield's petition. He had informed four of the five Commissioners that he simply wanted to get his comments on the record, because the two lawyer Commissioners had indicated there was NOTHING they could do. So, Bob Bowman takes the first angry jab by suggesting an "oversight" not placing a home address on a document is the same as a "mistake" putting the wrong information on a document. Dictionary.com states an "oversight" is 1. on omission or error due to carelessness 2. unintentional failure to notice or consider; lack of proper attention. 3. supervision, proper care. It states that a "mistake" is 1. an error in action, calculation, opinion or judgement caused by poor reasoning, carelessness, insufficient knowledge, etc. 2. a misunderstanding or misconception. 3. to regard or identify wrongly as something or someone else. 4. to understand, interpret, or evaluate wrongly; misunderstand, misinterpret. 5. to be in error.

Why did Bowman react negatively to Hornback's oversight and attempt to link an oversight to a mistake? Could it be this Knoxville News Sentinel story from March 2009, where Hornback applied for the Election Commission position that Bowman received?

As for Huddleston, the former appointed "Black Wednesday" County Commissioner that was removed from office this article from today's News Sentinel speaks for itself. Especially the details at the end of the article "Immediately following the meeting, Hornback was accosted in the hallway by Former Knox County Commissioner Jack Huddleston, who accused him of being "everything that's wrong with the Republican Party." "You're scum," Huddleston said "You're a certified nut." Hornback, arms crossed, smiled and told a reporter" "I'm not the one losing my temper and yelling in a public hallway." "If I'd lost my temper he'd be on the floor." Huddleston shot back before storming off. Hornback said late Friday evening to quote Winston Churchill "You have enemies? Good. That means that you have stood up for something sometime in your life" and Hornback also said that he doesn't enjoy quoting a Democrat but Franklin D. Roosevelt's quote is most appropriate for this situation. "I ask you to judge me by the enemies that I have made."

KC-PACE Political Endorsements

The Knox County Political Action Committee for Education has interviewed all candidates for election on May 4, 2010. After interviewing them they have made endorsements. KC-PACE is a voluntary, non-profit, unicorporated organiztion of individual educators and has no political party affiliation. The endorsements are recomended for election and are considered eucation friendly candidates.

Political Candidate Hatfield's False Entry Documented to Authorities

On Tuesday morning at 5:59 a.m. Brian Hornback, candidate for Republican State Executive Committeeman District Six sent an email to Knox County Election Administrator Greg Mackay, Secretary of State Tre Hargett, Deputy Election Administrator Scott Frith, TN Election Coodinator Mark Goins, District Attorney General Randy Nichols and Assistant District Attorney General John Gill. The email was copied to the Knox County Election Commission members Chris Haegerty, Bob Bowman, Paul Crilly, Cassandra McGee Stuart and Cameron J. Brooks. Also, Scott Barker of the Knoxville News Sentinel was copied on the email. In addition, printed copies of the email/complaint were delivered to Mackay, Frith, Nichols, Gill and Barker.

Here is the text of the email "This concerns the Qualifying Petition for Ted Hatfield, Republican State Executive Committeeman District Six. The filing deadline was this past Thursday April 1, 2010 at NOON. It was brought to my attention over the weekend that on Mr. Hatfield's petition he is either ineligible to serve or has falsely stated information on an election document that he has signed an acknowledgement that the information is "true and correct.""

Please look at the Black Box on the front page of the document (SS-3025 (Rev. 1/04) Department of State) the first sentence in the black box states **TO BE COMPLETED BY THE CANDIDATE**

1) Mr. Hatfield identifies his home as 4305 Furen Road Knoxville 90238

If Mr. Hatfield's information is true and correct, then he does not live in TN State Senate District Six. As this zip code to the best of my ability to identify, is in Hollywood, Ca.

If Mr. Hatfield's information is NOT true and correct then he has knowingly made a false entry on an election document and has committed a class E felony as is noted immediately under Mr. Hatfield's signature.

2) Mr. Hatfield identifies his work address as Regal Entertainment Group 7132 Regal Lane Knoxville 90218

If Mr. Hatfield's information is true and correct then to the best of my ability to identify is in Ca as well.

If Mr. Hatfield's information is NOT true and correct then he has knowingly made a false entry on an election document and has committed a class E felony as is noted immediately under Mr. Hatfield's signature.

I look forward to your immediate attention to this most serious situation. I feel certain that either Mr. Hatfield does not reside within the district or will be ineligible to serve as he has committed 2 class E felonies as prescribed on the election document.

Bill Lockett Should Take Corrective Action on McCampbell

School Board Chair Indya Kincannon and Law Director representative Marty McCampbell at tonight's meeting said that they searched board policy all day and could not find in board policy where a board member can take personal privilege to delay a vote. Eighth District Patrick Richmond was seeking personal privilege to delay the budget vote. Dan Murphy was quick to inform the Kincannon and McCampbell that the policy is BCBD. After a brief recess, Chair Kincannon said that she and the Superintendent ruled it an emergency. Board Member Bratton made a motion to challenge the Chair and veteran board member Sam Anderson said that he would have to support Mr. Richmond's ability to take personal privilege to delay the vote for two weeks or one month.

With a law department representative to publicly acknowledge that they researched all day and did not find it makes Lockett and his office look like an inexperienced and unprofessional operation and because of that Lockett should take corrective action on McCampbell.

By a vote of 6-3 Kincannon's ruling was overturned by the board. The three board members supporting Kincannon were Murphy, Carson and Kincannon.

Knox Democrat Leadership Supports Hatfield in Challenging Hornback

In a surprising twist of inter-party politics, Ted Hatfield who is challenging Brian Hornback for Republican State Executive Committeeman District Six has the signature of Erin Lonas, the Knox County District Eight Democrat Representative on his qualifying petition. Obviously, as a leader in the Knox County Democrat Board of Governors Mr/Mrs. Lonas an interest to see the least qualified, least capable member advance to the Republican State Executive Committee so that the Democrats efforts are easier. Or, Mr. Hatfield is supporting a tradition of advancing the RINO (Republicans In Name Only) agenda. Here is the link to Hatfield's petition, Lonas is # 20. Here is the link to the Knox County Board of Governors where Lonas is listed as one of the District 8 Representative. The position that Hornback seeks is State Senate District Six, which encompasses all of County Commission District Eight.

It is interesting to note that Hatfield only submitted 28 signatures, one was not registered, one was out of the district, one was not completed correctly. So he only had the minimum required number of 25, so the Democrat signature he had was absolutely required. Also, Erin Lonas (not sure if Erin is a man or woman) is registered at the same address as a candidate for Democrat State Executive Committeeman District Six. We have been unable to determine if the candidate is the father/brother or some other relative of Erin. Time will tell.

"I will not rely on Democrats to put me on the ballot." This "ethics complaint" has politics written all over it.
