Check the story in the Business section of the Tennessean on Friday July 29, 2005. Governor Phil Bredesen has taken our state backwards in regard to job growth. The jobless rate in the month of June rose 5.1% according to the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development released on July 28, 2005.
A survey of businesses revealed that the number of jobs grew by about 11,900 over the previous year, a rate of 1.7%.
Wayne County has the highest rate of unemployment at 13.5%.
When you consider President Bush and the Republican Congress and Senate's success with job growth and the economy (minus the gas prices). What is the explanation for Tennessee's rising unemployment rates? A Governor that is not right for creating new jobs or for managing the states job growth to benefit the citizens.
