Brian's Blog sources have it on good authority that new Knox County First District Commissioner Josh Jordan has been asked to resign by some of his fellow Commissioners.
Mr. Hornback, I don't think he will resign. From just a pragmatic, de-facto position: Why should he? He's there, there's not much anyone can do about it now. Additionally, I have a $1 that says he runs for reelection in '08 and wins. 1st District politics is very complicated (different and competing power blocs)and I don't even claim to understand it but Josh's mom built up one very impressive machine (regardless of what you and I think of it - it's impressive) and that will be behind him all the way. So while his "youthful indescrections" would probably have precluded him from winning an election their effect is renderd moot by his appointment to County Commission. In '08 he'll have the advantages of incumbency and his mother's machine. So we'll just have to get used to the new, young Commissioner Jordan; whether we like it or not. The whole process stank and you and I and the rest of Knox COunty will just have to wait until '08 to do anything about it.
I really like Diane. I believe she worked hard. As a Republican, I have to advocate for Republicans. Overall, Diane has been non-partisan. She has attended many of our Lincoln Day Dinners.
I refuse to defend or criticize these new Commissioners. They have records and past actions to account for. I have had to account for previous actions during the election cycles of 2000 (victorious) and 2004 (not so victorious)
Are you aware that Ft. Sanders is in the First District. I am looking to see the "Fort" exert itself on '08.
What do you think? btw, Where have you been? You have been missed. Welcome back.

He should resign. But then again, all 19 should.
And you've got mail...
