John Becker of WBIR Ain't From Around Here and After Tonight Ought To Go Back

Tonight in "anchoring" the story on WBIR about State Representative and former Chief Deputy of Knox County Property Assessor Parkey Strader. Becker called him Parker Strader. Parkey's name is Park M. "Parkey" Strader.

Parkey was first elected as Knox County's Property Assessor in the early 70's and served until 8/31/2000. He was elected as State Representative in 2004. For Becker to butcher the name of Strader is inexcusable.

WBIR should have Seth Andrews as the Anchor. Whatever happened to Seth anyway?

You can catch the error every 30 minutes on 10News2 (Comcast Channel 21) until 11:00 p.m. this evening. It is within the first 7-8 minutes of the newscast.

Check Out this Week's Metro Pulse, Online and Print

The second week of their new and improved website. It looks good, Metro Pulse. But in addition this week is the Republican issue. Yes, believe it or not a Republican issue.

It has an in depth article about Fred Dalton Thompson, our next President.

However, Leslie Wylie has an "interview" with the three best Republicans in Knox County. The attractive and good looking Chair of the Knox County Young Republicans Stephanie Hundley, the intelligent 1st Vice Chair of the Knox County Republican Party Corey Johns and then there is me.

Stephanie, Corey and I are trying to get our schedules together to do some Metro Pulse signings. I just don't know if we can get it done or not with our busy schedules. However, I would venture to say that all three are likely to be at this Saturday's Lincoln Day Dinner. More on that later.

Have fun and enjoy. I had fun coming up with my answers. Hopefully, no one will be offended except for the Democrats. They can be offended, that is O.K.

Leslie did a great job, she and the Metro Pulse have moved up in the Brian's Blog media rankings.

Knoxville News-Sentinel Incompetence or Mistake?

Less than one hour ago, I called the Knoxville News-Sentinel and spoke with an Editor and asked. "As Chairman of the Knox County Republican Party, can you please tell me who the picture is on the front page that is identified as Richard Cate". The comment back was "that isn't Richard Cate?" I said "not by a long shot." I gave the Editor my phone number.

In the meantime I discovered through my team of sources spread throughout the metropolitan area that the photograph is of Art Cate. It appears that Art Cate is an employee of KCDC. I called the Editor back and informed him of the true identity of the person in the photograph. He said they just discovered that and would try and run a correction tomorrow.

A few things come to mind on this controversy. 1) The E.W. Scripps tabloid is beginning to rub off on the News-Sentinel 2) Editor McElroy really has been spending to much time on non profit boards 3) it is incompetence or 4) It was a simple mistake.

I am believing it is Number 4 and they will do better in the future.

And you thought being Chairman was an easy job.
