In today's "Big Metal Shed on the Hill" publication are reporting that the Knox County Election Commission Administrator Cliff Rodgers is looking into the eligibility of Gina Oster to be a candidate for Knox County School Board in the Third District. Yes, there is a restriction that you can NOT serve on the School Board and be an employee. Serve and be a candidate are two different roles. The precedent has been set in 2000. Jim Williams was the Principal of Carter High School in February when as a candidate he defeated School Board incumbent Steve Hunley. Williams retired in June of 2000 and took the oath of office and began serving September 1, 2000.
