Joe Jarret, Chief Deputy of "troubled" Knox County Law Director Bill Lockett had contacted five witnesses to appear at today's Ethics Committee hearing on the perjury charge of Commissioner Smith.
Local weekly newspaper Publisher and former Knox County School Board Member Steve Hunley through his Attorney informed the Committee that he refused to appear. Appointed Seventh District Commissioner Michele Carringer, Former Commissioner John Mills and Attorney Herb Moncier were NO shows to Jarret's notice.
It was noted that Steve Hunley Crony and Former Black Wednesday Appointed County Commissioner Jack Huddleston was present at the meeting until the committee voted to continue with the hearing. At which point, he left.
