Harold Ford, Junior - A Hypocrite or a Fraud?

Have you witnessed the new Harold Ford, Junior television commercial. Everybody thinks it's great. He is talking about high gas prices. That's important. Right? Absolutely, it is an important issue. Let's look at Junior's commercial

1) He has just filled up with gas at an Exxon station, where he spent at least 10 seconds complaining about the Exxon Executives high salaries and benefits. By, purchasing his fuel there he is a hypocrite and doesn't practice what he preaches.

2) He didn't get gas there and used the station and the stations logo as a prop. Ok, that would make him a fraud, acting in a commercial one way and doing another thing.

I report. You decide.

Mr. Hornback,
Nearly everyone who buys gas at Exxon, Pilot or wherever, complians - what else can they do? Gas is expensive and gas executives are being paid outrageous salaries. Nothing hypocritical about it. If he skipped the $1/gallon store to go to the roughly $3/gallon store to make his commercial then you might have a point. However, they're all about the same price so Rep Ford could have gone to any filling station (even Pilot) and made his point. It's a point that will resonate with many. Even the diehard conservatives I work with are making the same complaints - the commercial will be effective.
As for your second point - gee, politicals using variious backgrounds as props - churches, the Flag, the Capitol, farms, aircraft carriers ... - I'm shocked, shocked I tell you! We need to get together and nip this in the bud before it gets out of hand!

Perhaps in the fall when we run (please God anybody but Corker) against Ford, we can establish the monicker "Harold Fraud Jr."

Excellent suggestion. We make a great team.
