Seat A - Republican incumbent David Collins did not face a challenger on the ballot or write-in. Democrat Mark Harmon was challenged by write-in George Steffaniak. On the August 3, 2006 ballot. Vote Republican!
Seat B - Democrat incumbent Billy Tindell faced 2 write-in challengers. Neither beat him. Republican write-in Deborah Porter worked hard and came up a little short. Thank you Deborah for stepping up for the Republican party. We appreciate your efforts.

Mr. Hornback,
Mr. Tindell is term limited and will not be the Democrat candidate in August.
Since the Republican Candidate, Deborah Porter failed to get 5% of the write-in vote there will be now Republican opposition in August.
The Democrat candidate and future County Commissioner in August will be one to the two write in candidates; Amy Broyles or Jonathan Wimmer.

SteveMule,
You really need to follow this story better. Don't be so sure that Tindell won't be your candidate. And if you would read my post, I said that Mrs. Porter was unsuccessful. There isn't many good and reasonable people in teh 2nd district except Commissioner Tindell.
Mr. Hornback,
My apologies. I said: "Since the Republican Candidate, Deborah Porter failed to get 5% of the write-in vote there will be now Republican opposition in August."
That should have been "Since the Republican Candidate, Deborah Porter failed to get 5% of the write-in vote there will be no Republican opposition in August."
I can appreciate how that would be confusing.
With 1551 voting in the Republican Primary in District 2 alone getting 78 votes (5%) shouldn't have been that great a feat. Not with 988 voting for David Collins. You failed to get out the write-in vote in support of Ms. Porter - if I was a Republican (to say nothing of Ms. Porter I would be very dissapointed.

SteveMule,
That's fine as a Republican, you could be upset, your are not a Republican, so I am not concerned.
Why did your demo deaniac's fail to field any write-ins in the seventh district. Could you not even find one, per seat?
I will repeat what I said to you earlier. We (the Republicans) offered the citizens many different versions of candidates, male/female, liberal/conservative etc. etc.
You demo deaniac's could only find one and in many cases extreme liberal demos. That will be revealed between now and August.
See you in August. Stacey Diamond would have been a better candidate than Helen Diane Lewis, sorry that one didn't go well for you.
